Ingredients

For the Casserole:
- Ground beef
- Chopped green bell peppers: can substitute for red bell pepper
- Tomato sauce: can substitute for tomato puree or sugar-free ketchup
- Worcestershire sauce
- Honey: can substitute for brown sugar or liquid stevia
- Onion powder
- Garlic cloves
- Flaky sea salt
- Shredded cheddar cheese
- Olive oil
For Serving:
- Iceberg or romaine lettuce boats or keto hamburger buns, you could also use low-carb tortillas if you have those on hand!

Full Recipe Instructions

Step 1: Heat a large skillet on medium-high heat and add one teaspoon of olive oil.
Add the ground beef, chopped bell peppers, salt, onion powder and garlic.
Cook 3-5 minutes until the ground meat is cooked through.

Step 2: Lower the temperature to medium heat.
To make the sloppy joe sauce, add the tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and honey.
Simmer 2-3 minutes until combined.

Step 3: Add the beef mixture to a 9x9 casserole dish and spread into a thin layer.
Then top with the cheddar cheese.

Step 4: Broil on high in the oven for 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted.
Serve sloppy joe filling on iceberg or romaine lettuce boats or keto hamburger buns.

Storage
Store your keto sloppy joe casserole in the fridge for 3-4 days in an airtight container.
Freezer Meal Prep
You can also easily meal prep this sloppy joe recipe by adding the cooked meat mixture in a casserole dish or foil pan. Top with the cheddar cheese and wrap with plastic wrap to freeze for up to 3-6 months.
